In typical Activision 1 year release fashion, Call of Duty: Modern Wafare 3 is slated for release on November 8th of this year, big surprise right? Just yesterday, they released four teaser trailers showing four different locations, America, England, France, and Germany. Along with this, information from a source inside Activision leaked some plot details regarding Modern Wafare 3's Story Mode.
Also, Special Operations, (a game mode from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 involving missions not directly related to the storyline) is making a return with what appears to be two different modes: Mission and Survival. Also, the names and very few pictures of the Multiplayer Maps appear to have been leaked as well, with a list of about 20 of them. More on the storyline aspect, some of the locations have also been leaked with some weird odd names. "A plane transporting the president of Russia" and "A caste in the Czech mountains."
This is my own personal speculation but my guess is that you either play as a Russian, escorting the president and crash land in the Czech Mountains or you play as Ghost attempting to kill the president and get captured/imprisoned in Czech.
Also, some box art has been released, however it is unknown as to whether this is the official box art, concept art, or subject to change at all. Some IGN speculation has also been recently released discussing the four trailers Activision sent out. More information will be posted here after E3.
Talk about unfortunate timing. Right after the PSN credit card data outrage, Microsoft sent a warning to other users of phishing attempts via the Xbox Live message system. Hackers have apparently decided to target Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 gamers, perhaps because of the game's popularity (or maybe console gamers just make easy targets -- ZING!). ...Read More

It seems as if there's been a lot of shifting around in the upper management of some big technology companies. Of course much of that is probably due to the massive departure of all of AMD's top management, making other smaller departures seem more like part of the trend. However, it can't be denied that there have been more executives leaving now than there normally are. Now, its Intel's turn to lose a top exec. The President of Intel's Ultra Mobility Group, Anand Chandrasekher, has announced he is leaving "to pursue other interests." Other than that vague description, no reason was given for the sudden departure. ...read more
KiwiPC is not a very big PC manufacturer, and you likely haven't heard of them. They do, however, have some big ideas, as the purpose for their existence is to build very simple, affordable PCs that is easy for the less than tech literate to use. As such, they have released a basic Linux-powered nettop that appears to be based off of Ubuntu. KiwiPC claims they are using a simple open-source, customized distro that senior citizens should have no trouble using to access their favorite sites and games. ...read more
Windows Phone 7, while novel, was originally missing some of the most basic features that its competitors had. However, Microsoft was intent on fixing the feature gap that Windows Phone 7 shipped with, which should make the platform more compelling than ever. However, an early preperator update last month backfired, bricking some Windows Phone 7 devices. However, Microsoft seems to be back on track, as not only did they release a fixed initial update, they are now beginning to push a new update that adds, among other things, copy-paste. ...read more
Recently, AMD has been in quite a bit of turmoil. While their graphics division leads that market and has been highly successful for the last couple of years now, their CPU division still lags far behind the competition, their best CPUs being forced down into the bargain bin by Intel's new Sandy Bridge CPUs. Additionally, while a strong force in the mobile GPU market, their mobile CPUs are arguably worse off than their desktop CPUs, and until recently, ULV offerings were non-existent. Through this, the majority of AMD's leadership was ousted, including CEO Dirk Meyer. There were even rumors of the company being up for sale. However, AMD seems to be working towards having a fully-functional leadership again shortly, starting with the hiring experienced executive Mike Wolfe from Freescale Technologies as their Chief Information Officer. ...read more
Western Digital has been on a high-activity streak lately. Earlier this month WD acquired Hitachi GST, a huge change in the market structure that is sure to put competitor Seagate on its heels. In addition, they have continued to replace their older Caviar Blacks, as their last gen Cavs had become very long in the tooth indeed. Now, WD has just released an enourmous 4-bay high-performance RAID 0, 1, or 5 external HDD enclosure. What is the maximum storage size for this enclosure? ...read more
